DashPass and Uber One both run about $10 a month, or roughly $96 if you pay annually - a discount of nearly 20% for committing upfront. Either one waives the delivery fee on participating orders, but whether that's actually worth it depends on how often you order: skip a couple of months and the annual plan stops looking like a deal.

Subscription fee vs. delivery fees saved
The math is straightforward: a $10 monthly fee against delivery fees of $2 to $8 an order means you need roughly two to three orders a month just to break even. Order once a month and you're paying more for the subscription than you'd have paid in fees outright. Order every week and it pays for itself several times over.
Ordering frequency it encourages
Once the delivery fee disappears, ordering starts to feel free, and it's easy to order more often than you did before subscribing. That extra spending on food itself can outweigh whatever the subscription saved on fees.
Fees that still apply
A subscription waives the delivery fee, not the rest of the bill. Service fees, small-order fees, and tip are still there on every order, and so is the menu markup: many restaurants price their delivery-app menus noticeably higher than what you'd pay ordering the same food in person, subscription or not.
How to use your results
- Track your actual delivery order frequency for a month before subscribing to see if the math genuinely works out in your favor.
- Include service fees and tips in your monthly estimate, since the subscription typically doesn't touch those charges.
- If the total looks risky, consider whether pickup orders or cooking at home a couple more nights a week gets you a similar benefit for less.

- Only subscribe to one delivery platform instead of stacking multiple memberships across services you rarely use.
- Watch for annual subscription pricing, which is usually cheaper per month than paying month to month.
- Set a personal order limit per month so the subscription doesn't quietly encourage more spending than it saves.
- Cancel and re-subscribe seasonally around times you know you'll order more, like a busy work stretch, instead of keeping it year-round.
